Damage Types
Damage Types view
The Damage Types view displays the damage types that exist at the current scope level. Damage types are used to record equipment component damages when a visual inspection finds damages to an equipment such as a container, chassis, or accessory. At some facilities the gate clerk records damages when a container is received at an ingate while in other the Maintenance and Repair (M&R) facility at the terminal records the damages for an equipment.
In the Units view (on page 1), use the Actions Update Damages (on page 1) option to update damages for a unit.
You can add new damage types, and edit or delete existing damage types from this view.
If you record damages in XPS, SPARCS N4 automatically adds the mapped damage types in the Damage Types view. For more information, see Recording damages in XPS (on page 1).
In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:
Recover Obsolete: Recover deleted damage types.
Purge: Purge damage types.
Export SNX File: Export the selected damage types as an XML file using the snx.xsd format.
Copy Reference Set (on page 1): Copy damage types from another entity set.
To add a new record:
Click .
To edit or delete a record:
In the list view, select the record(s) that you want to edit or delete.
Do one of the following:
Click to edit a selected record.
Click to delete the selected record(s).
